Guidance for rest timing unilateral exercises with rest pause

I'd like to see guidance for timing unilateral exercises with rest pause. Should you do all rest pause sets on one side before the next? Or can you combine with an optimal timer?

With the short rest, you should you do all your sets on one side, then the next. It's really the best way.

I would say :

1- Do left

2- Do right

3- Pause

4- Go to #1

If it takes 60 seconds to do the exercise set, and there is a 20 second rest pause.... then it is 80 seconds before you start doing the left again... that is 4 time the specified rest pause (defeating the purpose of shorter rest times to fatigue the muscle)
