Chat with your AI coach

Dear lifter,

In May, we raised just under $10,000 on Kickstarter.

The first big new feature we promised is the Web app.

The second big improvement we promised is to make the app "as easy to use as a dishwasher". As we plan ahead for this one, I need your help. Would you like to be able to chat with your AI coach inside Dr. Muscle?

To see what I mean, create a new account inside Dr. Muscle (top-right menu > log out > create new account). If you like it, we'll extend that chat feature. Picture this:

You log into Dr. Muscle. A chat opens. You read:

Good afternoon Carl! Welcome back. Here's a snapshot of your progress:

9 workouts done
12,251 lbs lifted
Max strength: 121 lbs (+3%)
Sets: 91 (+5%)

Today's workout is Upper Body. Your last workout was 2 days ago. You should have recovered. How are you feeling today?

[Not so good]

OK then, I suggest we take it easy (you'll do fewer sets, and your workout will be shorter). Sounds good?

[Yes, start shorter workout]
[No, start normal workout]

And so on...

***

What do you think? In short, you'd be chatting with your AI coach inside Dr. Muscle, and all the information you need to make better training decisions and get in shape faster would be presented to you in a chat format that's easy to understand.

Thanks again for your amazing support.

Honestly, I could do without that feature.

I wish the app would look at how long it's been since my last workout and allow me to choose a deload session.  In essence, maybe not a Cortana type AI but just a "Hey, how are you feeling today?"  And then depending on my answer, adjust as necessary?

I think it's a must-have feature for the app to be a replacement for a personal coach.

I recommend you consider combining this with the other recommendation around taking pictures. What if the app showed the last picture you took and said “This is your last progress picture! Time to take a new one! We’ll do it after your workout so make it count!”

Great suggestions! I've turned this one into its own feature request, so other customers can vote for it (we implement suggestions with the most votes first). Thx!

I’d love for you to take this “chat with your coach” even farther and more engagement like at the end of a set let me swear at my AI coach like, “I hate you!” “F off this hurts!” Hmmm...maybe only I do that with my coaches?
