Tell me the calories I’ve used during a workout

Mark Heuvelman 6 years ago updated by Carl Juneau, PhD 5 days ago 6

Would DrMuscle be able to tell me the calories I’ve used during a workout? It knows the sets, reps and weight so I think it would be able to do this?

Thanks for voting for this feature -- it's in beta!

Dr. Muscle now shows you your calories at the end of each workout, and on your History page (coming soon). Note that counting calories can help you burn fat, but that you must be careful not to eat too much to do so, even if you work out hard.

If you're in the beta:

On Android, you can already download the update. On iPhone? You'll have to wait 2-3 days for Apple to approve it. To update:

- Open the store app on your phone

- Search for Dr. Muscle

- Tap update

Not in the beta? Write back if you'd like to get in. Otherwise, you'll see a notification to update inside the app in 7-10 days when the public version comes out.

Now would be a great time to suggest and vote for our next feature. If you'd like to do that, please visit: https://muscle.userecho.com/communities/1-submit-your-feedback/topics#.

Really appreciate your support and advice. Thanks!

Also knowing the bodytype. I think it's only missing the current weight to be available.

Completly support, would facilitate bulk & cut...

Exactly! I am really waiting for it!

I’m a new user and I would like to make a suggestion for a future update. I have been using for the past 6 years consistently this app: https://apps.apple.com/pt/app/gymgoal-pro/id571824492 and I was able to track calories burned through my Apple Watch or HRM Chest Band because the app tracked calories burned for each workout based on HRM. Basically that’s it! The app tracks near Bluetooth hrm devices, calculate calories burned and that is a big help so you can track your expenditure calories vs ingested calories so you can fine tune your diet. I hope to see an update to Dr Muscle app with this feature included.

I've noticed that even though calories are reported to Apple Health, they are not being added to the Apple move ring.

Thanks for your suggestion David. I've made it standalone so other customers can vote on it: https://muscle.userecho.com/communities/1/topics/643-send-calories-to-apple-move-ring
