Access Dr. Muscle from the Web

Just thought of a cloud account option so you can enter custom exercises and workouts quicker. Easier to type on a keyboard for longer tasks.


Say I go to BFFM Inner Circle.  I see a workout program I want to do.  Ah yeah.. okay Upper Body 1; Lower Body 1; Upper Body 2; Lower Body 2... typing all that on my phone won't be thrilling.


Would be nice to go to my Dr Muscle account.  See My Workouts or My Exercises.. .add more.. and it gets synced to the client.


It's okay if I have to add 1 exercise on the fly in the gym.  No big deal.  But it's not fun to add an entire program. Or say 15 exercises that aren't included with the base program.

An algorithm that adapts more personally to the individual rather than a universal standard

By the time someone gets through about 20 workouts, it would be quite easy to see the convexity of the training load function. Most standard training load charts I see that predict 1RM are quite linear. In my experience, this is not accurate enough and changes based on experience. Also, some people simply have higher endurance which allows them to get a couple more reps at lower loads, but doesn't translate to the typical higher 1RM. In this case, in your app, the person will hit a strength phase having done bench @225 for 8 reps and suddenly it jumps to 250 expecting 5 reps, but that person just has high endurance but lower relative strength at low reps. I've easily plotted this function for myself, so I know a reasonable data scientist can feed an adaptive convexity argument into the AI function.

Weight control for available dumbbells and plate sizes

The weight suggestions that the app gives me are very odd numbers like 52.5 or 97.2 and it is well known that most pre-loaded dumbbells come in five pound increments or multiples of five starting at five pounds, but when your gym has plates that are 45,35,25,10,5,2,5 pounds the fractional weights aren’t possible even with barbells because of the limited plates available and the pre-loaded dumbbells in multiples of five and pre-loaded barbells come in multiples of 10. Therefore, the app needs a better way for people to calculate or control the weight that is suggested to you and me for better use and understanding and control over your own workouts.

Weight plate racking calculator

I've noticed the app uses odd weights, example bench press: 152.5.   A cool feature would be for you to list the available weight plates you have on hand and have the app tell you exactly which plates to use.  I even have .25, .5, .75, and 1lb weight plates that would go perfectly with these odd little weight fractions the app throws at you, so that would be cool to be able to use those in addition to the traditional weight plates.  Anyway, this website gave me the idea: http://exrx.net/Calculators/WeightPlate.html ...I think it would be a super useful feature myself.

Have the App Calculate "Easy Day Workouts" based on Normal Workouts, not a user's "6 rep guess"

After about 6 months of working out, the App automatically adds "Easy Workouts" to the program. Example Level3: is 3A, 3B, 3C, then Level 4: is 4A Easy, 4A, 4B, 4C. L5 is: 5A Easy, 5A, 5B Easy, 5B, 5C. The entire purpose of the Dr Muscle App is to do the best, most efficient workout for the greatest gains. If, during a regular workout, you have a "weak performance" the App Automatically "deloads" and "adjusts" your workout for optimum recovery, using AI. This is why I use the app instead of a 3x5 card and a pencil to track my workouts. 

If the App RECOMMENDS doing EASY workouts, as part of the program... then I feel the app should also calculate and RECOMMEND the weights (based on your actual history with the movement and your current calculated 1RM) to optimize the "EASY DAYS" as well. If I "guess wrong", the AI will keep changing (based on results) until my Normal versus Easy workouts are appropriate. But, why should I waste multiple cycles and adjustments, when there are 100's of sets of my data available for the AI to analyze and give me the correct weights for my Easy Days that the Program is Recommending I do?

Please Calculate Weights for "Easy Exercises" based on the history of the same "Normal Exercises".

Send total workout time and volume to MyFitnessPal (or Apple Health)

I really like the app, but it would cut out double documentation. Don’t need each exercise, just total time and volume. I usually track with Apple Watch but forgot today. My preference is MFP because that where I track food.

Add Basic Flexibilty / Mobility Program

I'd like to suggest a basic full body flexibility program.  All stretches would be time based.  Pretty much like a weight workout but with the exercise being a stretch and the set being based on time.

I'm 100% sure this would work much like a timed plank if you added it as a custom program.  But I like the progressive nature and canned programs.

Eve: Sync weight with apple health (or MyFitnessPal)

Ideally, it should not ask me for my weight. It should link to apple health to look for my weight. If I don’t have apple health or My Fitness Pal, or other apps, then it should ask what my weight is. I also think taking into consideration active energy is important.
