Select your available equipment at home
Would be very nice to be able to tell the app what equipment you have and let it recommend a workout based on the most effective exercises you can do with your equipment.
Answer
Would love this. I use the home workout option and part of that is tricep pushdowns, which is fine as I do have a pulldown machine - but there are no other pulley-based exercises which makes me think the app thinks I don't have a pulley available and the tricep pushdown inclusion may have been overlooked.
Hi guys,
Thanks a lot for that suggestion. I can see it's getting some votes already -- nice! I look forward to implementing it.
For now, for the triceps pushdown, I've double checked. You're correct: I did include it in the home programs, from level 2 an up (wasn't overlooked). So far, this hasn't been a problem (looks like people had the equipment at home, you like you do). But if you'd like to do more pulley exercises, you can swap them in (here's how: http://drmuscleapp.com/news/swap/).
All the best,
Carl
Thanks for the reply! One thing I think would be great would be to recommend appropriate swaps up front with the option to choose from the whole list. Following on that I would also maybe track recent swaps when you choose the option so you could be consistent more easily.
Hey guys!
Happy to say we've started working on that feature. Under Settings > Equipment, you'll see new toggles. The "I have a pulley" toggle works (you won't get pulley exercises if you toggle it off). We're working on the other ones. Which customizations would you like to see first?
Via user Deniz Kiral:
1. Pullup
2. Dips (tied)
3. Glute Ham
4. Rings
5. Leg Extension & leg curls
Also, happy to say that Barrett's suggestion above has already been implemented (when you swap an exercise, you now see suggested exercises for the same body part).
Cheers,
Carl
Could you please clarify for me if the question in the initial post "Which customizations would you like to see first?" means you would like us to submit lists of equipment exercises, such as:
Chest Fly;
Cable Crossover;
Overheat Military Press;
Seated Cable Row;
etc., etc. ?
Or you are referring to some other form of customizations we should submit our input on?
Thanks.
Hey Cristian,
The ideas here is this:
"Would be very nice to be able to tell the app what equipment you have and let it recommend a workout based on the most effective exercises you can do with your equipment."
So, I'm thinking more along the lines of:
Chin-up bar
Pulley
Etc.
Now I understand.
Owned piece of equipment + good exercises on that can be done on that equipment.
I have developed a (very incomplete) list of exercises that can be done with specific pieces of equipment I own.
As I don't know what is the max length of a post in this forum, I will make one post per equipment.
