Option to EDIT in History

Nick Monastiriotis 7 years ago updated by Carl Juneau, PhD 6 years ago 9

Also, in order to avoid a -1% change and a subsequent deload (I mean, in cases it's not needed in reality -the -1% change issue discussed in a different thread), I went back to history to edit the sets and add 1 rep to each set (which I actually did anyway) and realised there is no EDIT option (only the DELETE now, of course).

So, the option EDIT in History?

Thanks for voting for this feature! Dr. Muscle now lets you edit your history.

The update is already available to all users. To update, open the app store on your phone, search for Dr. Muscle, and tap "update".

Now would be a great time to suggest and vote for our next feature. If you'd like to do that, please visit: https://muscle.userecho.com/communities/1-submit-your-feedback/topics#.

Cheers!

Can I vote for my self? LOL!

Yes! Of course you can ;)

Just did!  Joke aside, I was a bit surprised people haven't voted for the edit option; hence, the comment :)

This would be a great feature! Here's my use-case:

I started my program in the gym at my workplace, which has a high-pulley machine with a weight stack.

Now I'm repeating the same workout some days in my own garage gym, where I also have a high-pulley machine.

However I discovered the tension at my workplace gym machine is actually half the marked weight, due to the pulley design.

But my garage machine is simpler, and the weight loaded is the true tension.

(I've used a hanging scale to verify these findings.)

So to avoid having to make an adjustment when entering weights in the app when using my home machine, I decided to start entering "true weight" (which means halving the marked weight at work). This seemed more logical than trying to carrying some "fudge factor" forward forever.

So this will cause a blip in my progression because suddenly the app thinks I'm using twice the weight.

So being able to edit the previous weights for exercises on the workplace machine would give me a more accurate history.

+1. I also switch gyms sometimes and even though the pulleys are the same brand, with weight markings on them, I could swear the resistances are different. Also, when I started using this app, sometimes I entered the weight for each arm on dumbbell exercises, sometimes the total, which makes my workouts a bit confusing now :)

Also, it would be good if we could simply manually enter a new 1RM for each exercise that the app bases its calculations on.

Thanks for the tip with the scale, will also do that.

Hi Martin,

Thank you for your vote and suggestions.

To your point of:

> enter a new 1RM for each exercise that the app bases its calculations on.

You can currently reset an exercise and enter a new 1RM. But this will erase your history. To reset, tap "..." next to an exercise, and tap "Reset". I understand this may not be exactly what you're looking for, and I see this suggestion is getting more and more votes, so hopefully, we'll implement it soon.

Thank you for your help and support. Really appreciate the support from forward-thinking lifters like yourself.

I keep on adjusting the weight / reps in real-time, without hitting the + / - buttons, and then just click Save Set – then I realize that I actually did 58kg and not 57kg (I only have 1.25kg weights, so I’ve had to round), and there’s no way to change it but to delete it; and if it’s the 2nd one and you’re on your 4th when you realize, that’s a pain. You have to delete them all and start again.

I also have a question about the app. How can I got back to previous day to edit the work out?  For example, I didn't finish my calf work out from my leg day, even though I said I did on the app, but I needed to do my upper body today. I want to go back to the gym tonight to do my proper calf work out from my leg split. How can I go back and edit those times or re-do it? I wish there was an easier way for this. Thanks
