Offline access

remonemundle 6 years ago updated by Éric Boucher 5 years ago 4

Creating an offline version of the app that can update at intervals might be a good idea. I still continue to struggle with spotty internet connectivity because my gym is far down below ground level. I still am committed to using the app though because I like it so much. It comes at a price.... occasionally I have to check out of the gym, go outside and check back in for an exercise to update!!

Thanks for voting for this feature! Dr. Muscle now supports offline access. Now you only need to connect before and at the end of your workout (you can even connect before you leave the house and when you return)!

Here’s how:

  1. Open your workout
  2. Open each exercise and tap “Begin exercise”
  3. Navigate between exercises by tapping “Superset”
  4. Once all your exercises are loaded, you can get offline, work out, and save your sets
  5. Once you’ve saved all your sets, get back online and “Finish and save” each exercise

The update is already available to all users on Android and under final review by Apple (give it 2-3 days). To update, open the app store on your phone, search for Dr. Muscle, and tap "update".

Now would be a great time to suggest and vote for our next feature. If you'd like to do that, please visit: https://muscle.userecho.com/communities/1-submit-your-feedback/topics#.

I'm also curious to hear what you think of our new home screen (work in progress). Tell me here: https://muscle.userecho.com/communities/1/topics/147-new-home-page.

Really appreciate your help and advice. Thanks!

Have you thought of implementing an offline version? As the internet access at my gym is really bad, it would be great help. For example download training and uploading it again afterwards with a good access. It would save me from regular breakdowns.

I would add phone battery issues ;)

Why not using a cache and send it when network come back instead of having to load it that way?
