Maximum weight available

Howie 5 years ago updated by Carl Juneau, PhD 5 years ago 7

Along the same lines is there a way to implement a maximum weight a person may have available to them ie sixty pound dumbbell and if the next graduated increment is 62.5 lbs the app can substitute some other increased effort ie extra set or rep etc

You can now set a max weight for every exercise. Tap "..." next to an exercise to customize it. If you're on Android, you can update right away. If you're on Apple, you'll need to wait 2-3 more days (it's under final review). To update:

- Open the store app on your phone

- Search "Dr. Muscle"

- Tap "Update"

My gym has dumbbells up to 50lbs and app is asking me to do 55lbs. I brought it down to 50 and increase reps but it says my strength has decreased.

exactly. I was hoping there is some way to have the app account for this by possibly increasing reps or dropping rest time etc.

I wished for this too. I bought 2.5 lb wrist weights so I could get to 52.5 lbs, and also so I could have those intermediate weights for everything else. At some point, lifting 52.5 lbs dumbbells 20 times isn't going to be the same as lifting 65 lb dumbbells 12 times. It's just a problem that can only be solved by using different equipment. (I tried the solution above [dropping the weight and increasing the reps], but the app doesn't like that too much.)

I agree, it's would be nice to be able to switch from an incremental system with a limit of weight and a pre-entered weights system. Depending on the situation, both system are needed in the app.

Please also include minimum weight e.g. this machine:

Here. If we only set 7,5 then it might start with 7,5 - 15 - 22,5 etc. So we have to set the minimum level to 5 with 7,5 increments. Because the lowest weight is different from increment level.

I agree with all of the above comments and working in 2.5 increments is not feasible so I always round up.  But when I do Tri push downs the program was having me do 220 lbs which the stack only goes to 200.  I add 2- 5lb weight to the pin at 220 lbs and increase the reps and I loose ground with the program that I didn't meet the goal.
