This is definitely needed as it is crucial for bodyweight exercise progression.   Also, I recommend the following enhancements to support this suggestion:

1.) A separate field for the bodyweight and external weight.  Trying to do this with one field would be inaccurate and confusing.  
2.) pull the bodyweight from Apple health if available

yes Greg is a very smart guy and I believe him on that point.   Not sure physiology was the best word to use in my post but wasn’t sure what to say because preference didn’t seem quite right as I think there is more to it than that as well.  Like I mentioned I’m not sure there would be much if any benefit over undulating reps as it is done now but if nothing else could make for an interesting data analysis 

One thing I think would be great would be to recommend appropriate swaps up front with the option to choose from the whole list. Following on that I would also maybe track recent swaps when you choose the option so you could be consistent more easily.

i noticed the exact same thing with the push down 

this is a bad habit I think many of us have done if you have trained long enough.  You get false progression by loosening up your form more and more to keep adding weight.   It’s very hard mentally to miss your target reps but in the long run you will get them and it is better to be honest with yourself.
