Making the app choose from the available dumbells.  Exactly like we can choose they plates available, it couldt be nice to choose the dumbells available at our gym

Percentage based strength programming

Barrett Roberts 4 years ago 0

Would be a very cool feature to have the app offer the option for some percentage based programming.   Where you are not always shooting for a PR but ramping up for a period of time with lower percentages of your current PR.   This would be fairly easy to code based on the current PR stored for each exercise.

I don’t know the under the hood calculations currently in use so this may already be in play.

Ability to Merge Exercises

Marc David 4 years ago 0

As I've been using DR Muscle for a while now, I see that I've created some "duplicate" like exercises.  And Dr Muscle treats them as different and separate which technically is true but it defats the purpose of consistency.

Would love to "merge" exercises together

For example:

1.  Seated Row

2.  Cable Seated Row

Same for me but I realized I have history for both!

If I could merge them, I could pick the one I want to keep (name) and pull in the Cable Seated Row records

Love to clean up my laundry list of exercises and some of them are duplicates

Add more calf exercises to lower-body workouts

Chris Kostoff 5 years ago 0

Even Arnold had to work very hard on developing his calves. Truly a great leg day is simple: Quads, Hamstrings, and calves.

[Note from Carl: On the split program, the lower body B workout already has an exercise for calves. Calves are trained indirectly on other workouts days. Chris would like to see more direct calf work on those days.]

Add an optional daily exercise challenge (like pushups, planks, etc)

Jon Austin 5 years ago 0

On the behaviour side Dr Muscle could offer the xx challenge to get people started like pushup challenge and use the AI to suggest a daily challenge.

[Note from Carl: challenges could be daily or weekly, and you could see where you rank vs the top 10 - 25 - 100 of users.]

Make "challenges" optional

Martin Havelka 5 years ago 0

I don't need them, and the constant pop-ups are a bit annoying (I get them almost all the time, maybe because I always say "no" and the app registers this and asks me again the next time until I say "yes" once - then it would probably leave me in peace for a while)

Bug: Previous Sets Wrong

Joseph Williams 5 years ago updated by Carl Juneau, PhD 5 years ago 1

Recently, I've noticed that while the app requests reasonable weights and numbers of reps per work set, the yellow text is very wrong.  The yellow text describing the work sets I previously did and the percentage increase in strength the current work sets will give is clearly being calculated from a much lower weight.  So, while the application chooses something appropriate, the yellow text is useless.  This also makes it difficult to make slight adjustments to the recommended weight and number of reps because I can't see what I did last time.   I've included screenshots below to illustrate what I mean.

Thanks for reporting that issue Joe. We're on it. In fact, I believe we already have a fix in beta. I'm sending you an email now in case you'd like to join the beta and get the fix right away. For other customers reading this, please email support@drmuscleapp.com to join.

Otherwise, the fix should be out in 1-2 weeks.

Thx so much!

Compare personal workout statistics to other users.

Thomas Lorn 5 years ago 0

This would allow one to see if there gains are on par with the average user for various lifts and total strength. Perhaps if I see my bench strength compared to others is much slower in progress, it could be an indicator one of the many lifestyle variables is holding me back. Such as diet, lack of sleep, etc
