Add more calf exercises to lower-body workouts

Chris Kostoff 4 years ago 0

Even Arnold had to work very hard on developing his calves. Truly a great leg day is simple: Quads, Hamstrings, and calves.

[Note from Carl: On the split program, the lower body B workout already has an exercise for calves. Calves are trained indirectly on other workouts days. Chris would like to see more direct calf work on those days.]

Add an optional daily exercise challenge (like pushups, planks, etc)

Jon Austin 5 years ago 0

On the behaviour side Dr Muscle could offer the xx challenge to get people started like pushup challenge and use the AI to suggest a daily challenge.

[Note from Carl: challenges could be daily or weekly, and you could see where you rank vs the top 10 - 25 - 100 of users.]

Show all time records after finishing exercise

Martin Havelka 5 years ago updated by Pezking12 6 months ago 1

As I understand the app right now (maybe I'm wrong), the app says "You have achieved a new record" if you beat the previous workout's result. Eg if you lift 100, next workout 90, then 95, the app will say "new record" after the workout with 95. For context, it would be good to also show the very best result in your entire workout history.

Make "challenges" optional

Martin Havelka 5 years ago 0

I don't need them, and the constant pop-ups are a bit annoying (I get them almost all the time, maybe because I always say "no" and the app registers this and asks me again the next time until I say "yes" once - then it would probably leave me in peace for a while)

Bug: Previous Sets Wrong

Joseph Williams 5 years ago updated by Carl Juneau, PhD 5 years ago 1

Recently, I've noticed that while the app requests reasonable weights and numbers of reps per work set, the yellow text is very wrong.  The yellow text describing the work sets I previously did and the percentage increase in strength the current work sets will give is clearly being calculated from a much lower weight.  So, while the application chooses something appropriate, the yellow text is useless.  This also makes it difficult to make slight adjustments to the recommended weight and number of reps because I can't see what I did last time.   I've included screenshots below to illustrate what I mean.

Thanks for reporting that issue Joe. We're on it. In fact, I believe we already have a fix in beta. I'm sending you an email now in case you'd like to join the beta and get the fix right away. For other customers reading this, please email support@drmuscleapp.com to join.

Otherwise, the fix should be out in 1-2 weeks.

Thx so much!

Compare personal workout statistics to other users.

Thomas Lorn 5 years ago 0

This would allow one to see if there gains are on par with the average user for various lifts and total strength. Perhaps if I see my bench strength compared to others is much slower in progress, it could be an indicator one of the many lifestyle variables is holding me back. Such as diet, lack of sleep, etc

Quickly see plateus by showing 12 week progress on all exercises in current workout program.

Artin Entezarjou 5 years ago 0

It would be nice to see if one is plateuing by only showing graphs of exercises performed regularly instead of having to think of each separately and look them up one by one.
