Swap worklut days

Matthew V 5 months ago updated by Carl Juneau, PhD 5 months ago 1

There are some weeks where I may not be able to do my normal chest workout on a Monday or back on Tuesday. It would be great to have a way to move days around. Both for a single pair and for the entire cycle.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for your suggestion. Until this gets more votes, you can:

- Change your workout days under Settings

- Create a custom program with the days exactly how you want them for the entire cycle

- Open any workout, scroll down, and tap Skip workout to do the next one in your program instead

Your progress will not be affected.

I hope this helps. Thank you so much for choosing Dr. Muscle.

Best,

Carl

Show improvement in volume

At the end, of each exercise instead of simply showing the improvement in one rep Max also show whether there was improvement in total volume number of sets and repetitions, taking into account the weight if possible, which should be mathematically is easy.

AI ability to swap excercises to a comparable one

Eli 8 months ago updated by Carl Juneau, PhD 6 months ago 2

It would be really helpful if the AI chatbot could swap exercises for you. Like if I don't like Zercher Squats or something I could tell the AI and it could edit the training program to replace those with another exercise that uses the same muscle groups. I know it gives options but if it could pick the closest one and sub it in the middle of a workout when I would rather not take the time to look through them all and pick one that would be awesome.

Hi guys,

Thanks much for your suggestions and votes. Since we already have another suggestion like this one open with more votes, I'm going to merge this one into the other at https://muscle.userecho.com/communities/1/topics/662-ai-ability-to-swap-excercises-to-a-comparable-one.

No action needed on your end.

Thanks for choosing Dr. Muscle, and I look forward to implementing this one.

Best,

Carl

Streak breaks when the year changes

This is no biggie, but I noticed that my 16-or-so week workout streak was broken at the start or the year, although I have had already two workouts this week.

Freeze training option

Ovi 10 months ago updated by Brett S 10 months ago 1

Sometimes, for various reasons (for example medical), you cannot train. Being in the middle of a program, I think it would be useful to have a "freeze" button, with the addition of the reason and the addition of the mention if any form of training continues and at what frequency and intensity (for example the doctor won't let me in the gym, but allows me to swim); in this way, the application knows where I interrupted the program, for what reason and if I continued any form of training, so that when I return to the gym, it builds the best version of training for me based on the existing data.

Undo set

David B 10 months ago 0

The problem I have encountered - since there still isn't support for an Apple Watch app and the screen needs to remain on throughout the workout to maintain progress - is that the current set is marked completed while my phone is in my pocket. This triggers the timer and sometimes it also bumps the difficulty factor, which will affect my future workouts. There needs to be an undo button so that 1. the user is able to reset the timer and 2. the user can modify how difficult the first set was.

More workouts

Kamilla 12 months ago updated by Carl Juneau, PhD 12 months ago 1

It would be great to get more workouts. Upper/lower splits 3 to 7 is totally the same. It gets a bit boring to do the same exercises. I know it is possible to change it/swap - but I am using the app to get these programs not to make them myself.

Hi Kamilla,

Thanks for your suggestion. I'd be happy to add workouts with different exercises to the app when this gets more votes. But please keep in mind that this might actually slow down your progress (learn more: https://dr-muscle.com/change-routine-exercises).

I understand that changing exercises often can be more fun, so in the meantime, if you want to go that route, you'll find more varied workouts in the PPL and Muscle Split programs. To change program and try them out, do this:

1. Tap the Settings icon on the bottom bar
2. Tap "Change Program"
3. Tap "Workouts"
4. Tap "Gym" or "Home gym"

Thanks again for your suggestion, and for choosing Dr. Muscle.

List custom exercises under their body part

Seppo V 1 year ago 0

I created a new excercise (a leg press variation). In the excercises page, it is located in "my excercises", but not in the "legs".

In my opinion, it would be better if the excercise I created, would appear in the muscle group category. If I'm looking for the exercise, of just scrolling down the list, it would be easier to find it among other leg excercises. This is the more important, the more excercises I have created.

The "my excercises" could still be there, but it would be more user friendly to list all excercises per muscle group. The user created excercises could be marked with an asterisk, for example, if there is a need to separate them from the "official" list of exercises.

Enhanced Meal Planning Customization

davithar 1 year ago updated by Steve S 4 weeks ago 1

Suggestion:

I appreciate the recent addition of the country option for meal planning. However, I believe there is a crucial feature missing that could significantly improve user experience: the ability to input specific products that are available or preferred by the user.

Problem: Choosing a country may not always resolve the issue of availability or personal preference for certain products. For instance, seasonal variations affect the availability of fruits like blueberries, and sometimes certain products are too expensive or unavailable, leading to difficulties in following a meal plan.

Proposed Solution: I suggest adding a feature that allows users to input specific products they prefer or have available. Based on these inputs, the AI could generate a meal plan tailored to the user’s actual food choices. This would provide a more flexible and realistic approach to meal planning.

Benefits:

  1. Personalization: Users can create meal plans that reflect their dietary preferences and available ingredients, leading to higher satisfaction and adherence.
  2. Cost-Effectiveness: Users can avoid planning meals with expensive or unavailable ingredients, helping them stay within their budget.
  3. Seasonal Adaptability: Meal plans can be adjusted according to seasonal availability, making them more practical and sustainable.
