Reset start date

Seppo V 10 months ago updated 10 months ago 1

It seems that I have downloaded the app and created an account 50 weeks ago, but I have used the app and done the workouts less than two weeks (5 workouts so far). However, the AI seems to think that I have been training for almost a year on the program, and it keeps adjusting my caloric intake etc based on that and comparing my progress I have made in two weeks to the progress I should have done in a year.

Now that does not confuse me much, as I know where I stand, but it still would be nice to be able to reset the start date. I tried reconfiguring my account, but it did not change the start date.

Mark a meal as complete

Lyz 10 months ago 0

I would like that a "completed" button gets added below each day to give the opportunity to the user to specify the day is finished.

whenever a day is marked as complete, the next day meal plan should be the by default view when the user goes to his meal plan.

Defining and renaming training locations

Seppo V 10 months ago 0

Under the Change equipment tab, it is possible define three different workout locations (gym, home & other). It would be nice, if one could rename the locations. It would be especially nice, if one trains at several different gyms.

Another improvement would be that in addition of defining the weight plates and dumbbells, one could also define which machines there are in the gym.

User generated variations / different machines

Seppo V 10 months ago updated by Carl Juneau, PhD 10 months ago 1

In my gym, there are four different leg press machines, and in another gym I train regularily, there are yet another two leg presses from different manufacturers. They might have a different resistance with the same weight because of mechanics, angle or weight of the sled, etc.  Still, they are still all under the heading "leg press". The same goes with several pulleys; on one machine the same weight feels heavier than on another.

This creates a problem as the AI won't know whether I made more reps with a certain weight than last time because I am stronger, or because I used a different machine.

One solution would be to let the user create variations of excercises for each different machine, but the AI would treat them as the same exercise when it cames to progression. So, there would be user generated "leg press" for brand A leg press, another for brand B, and so on. However, the AI would treat all of them as "leg press". When the user progresses 1% in one variation, that would tranfer to all of the variations.

Hi Seppo,

Thanks for your suggestion.

It's easy to add any number of custom exercises to your account. Here's how:

  • Open the app
  • On your home page, scroll all the way down
  • Tap Exercises (bottom left)
  • Tap the big plus button at the bottom right corner

So, you can already create variations for your leg presses. But as you guessed, progression for custom exercises is independent. I look forward to this getting more votes so we can tie them together as you suggested.

Best,

Carl

Make warm-up adjustments influence the work set weights

Allan W 10 months ago 0

There is no reason why the warmup sets (for those who decide or need to use them) should not affect the weights that are suggested in the working sets.

When I am on the last rep of the entire workout, let me click something that both completes the rep and completes the workout in one click.

Option to enter calories manually for cardio exercises

Pezking12 10 months ago 0

It would be good to have the option to manually enter actual calories burnt per the cardio machine into the exercise program as not sure how it calculates this if it doesn’t know how intense you worked out etc.

Option for tempo consideration.

Legna 10 months ago updated by Carl Juneau, PhD 10 months ago 1

Option for tempo consideration. If I would like to focus on tempo/mind muscle connection that day- to be able to go down in weight to achieve nice slow tempo without compromising my overall progress and the weight I was able to use prior to that day.
would like the app to give me the option to “deload” for a slower tempo and then there be a timer to accurately and effectively do slower tempo.

Similar to alternating between normal, and back off sets options we currently have

Thanks for your suggestion! Looking forward to start working on it when it gets more votes. I the meantime, I wanted to point out there's evidence that "hypertrophic outcomes are similar when training with repetition durations ranging from 0.5 to 8 s."

This is making slow reps like that somewhat less attractive, in my opiniion.

Meal plan and workout calendar not populating

Will Field 10 months ago updated by Carl Juneau, PhD 10 months ago 1

Just updated to the beta test and the meal plan and workout calendar are not populating anything. The buttons work but do generate anything.

To be fair I haven't logged any workouts yet but the scheduled workouts are not showing.

The meal plan get a meal plan button works but shows a blank screen and options to reset plan refreshes to another blank screen. I’ve tried restoring the purchase from the subscription screen. No luck.

Hey Will,

Thanks for reporting those issues.

We've found the cause, and it's related to iOS 18 public beta. Since it's still in beta, I'm afraid we don't fully support it yet. But I'm happy to say that we're on it, and that they should be resolved in 1-2 weeks in the beta version of our app.

At any rate, we'll definitely have full support once iOS 18 is officially released to the public around mid-September.

We try to keep this site for suggestions and feature requests. If you encounter more bugs, please email us at support@drmuscleapp.com directly, and we'll address them promptly.

Thanks for your support,

Carl
