Add more new workouts on a regular basis (get a team of experts to design them)

Barrett Roberts 5 years ago updated by Michael Tijerina 5 years ago 1

I think getting experts to design a library of workouts (adding more on a regular basis) would skyrocket the value of the app.

Add extra button after first work set

Christofer S 5 years ago updated by Carl Juneau, PhD 10 months ago 3

If you push button "that was hard" is automaticly lower the weights, but you should add an extra button

That was hard (Keep Weight)

That was hard (Lower weight)

Great catch guys. I reviewed this with the team and we'll be making changes to make that experience smoother. "Very hard" will not lower the weight anymore (we'll achieve the same training stimulus another way, perhaps by lowering reps instead). Look for the fix in beta and then public in 2-3 weeks.

Allow a direct link to custom workouts somewhere.

Barrett Roberts 5 years ago 0

Right now the ability to create And edit custom workouts is somewhat hidden.   I would place a direct link either on the workouts tab or under the more tab.   There needs to be a one click option to find and access them.

On easy lifts, show information about the regular version to ensure the easy lift is still in the helpful range.

Joseph Williams 5 years ago updated by Carl Juneau, PhD 5 years ago 4

Easy lifts start out with an effective maximum weight that is a percentage of their traditional version, then progress on their own.  I would very much appreciate being able to see some basic stats on the regular lift when doing the easy version. This would alleviate my fears that I am growing too fast or too slow in the easy exercises; I never know how hard to push myself to stay in the proper range.

It might also be very helpful for the application to suggest weight / reps to keep it in the helpful range, "Do Y reps and X pounds to be back at 80% of <exercise>'s maximum."

Each programs should have its own stats

Tamara Solomon 5 years ago updated by Éric Boucher 5 years ago 1

Today I tried the "Buffed with Bands 1" workout for the first time... and while the exercises were good, the stats were very harsh. I guess it was comparing my weights during the workout to my usual program, but that was really tough to see. It feels like an apples to oranges comparision, to compare a banded workout to a "regular" workout, and now it feels like my stats are messed up as a result. I feel like the programs should have their own stats.

Workout reminders at different times

Antoine Bernard 5 years ago 0

Love the new workout reminders feature. Would like to be able to set a reminder on a different time each day e.g.:

Monday 5 am
Wed 7 am
Friday 7 am

Right now can only select 7 am for all days.

Show rest times next to sets (new UI)

Ermal Koci 6 years ago 0

I think the rest time beside the set reps was nice. I like to know beforehand the rest times. It helps to know whow much time you have to rest. It's missing on the new beta version.

Weighted bodyweight exercises

Benjamin Clifford 6 years ago updated by Carl Juneau, PhD 3 years ago 2

Support for bodyweight exercises with external weight to increase the resistance would be really useful. Tracking just the added weight is inaccurate, and modifying the minimum weight on every exercise based on bodyweight fluctuations is a bit of a chore.

More variations in the programming

Wilbert Philippe 6 years ago 0

I would like to see more variations in the programming. Like weightlifter, Olympic lifter or crossfitter and calisthenics in the weight training program and not something separate. I got bored of the programming. After I completed the program, it gave me the same program again with the same movements. The best programming I've ever combined both weights, calisthenics and accessory work like scapula pullups, resistance bands etc. in the workout and I had the best results.

Progress pictures

Andrew Coven 6 years ago updated by Derek Casari 6 years ago 1

I recommend you consider taking pictures. What if the app showed the last picture you took and said “This is your last progress picture! Time to take a new one! We’ll do it after your workout so make it count!”
