Good news! We've implemented this for all exercises. To change, do this:
Tap Settings (bottom bar)
Scroll down to Train left/right sides separately?
You can also customise this behaviour at the exercise level (for custom exercises only). Default exercises follow the global setting.

Beta update: Customize your workouts further with 5 new body part priorities
More body part priorities are coming! This is one of our top requested features, so I’m thrilled to bring it to you. With this version coming up in beta, you can now ask the app to prioritize any of 10 body parts, including abs and biceps, but also now traps, shoulders, calves, and more! To customize that, just tap Settings (bottom bar) and scroll down to Body part priority. With this update, we're also speeding up the app and making it more stable, so your workouts are faster and smoother. Thanks to all who voted for that feature, and for your support. We truly appreciate it.
If you're in the beta:
On Android, you can already download the update. On iPhone? You'll have to wait 7-10 days for Apple to release it. To update:
– Open the store app on your phone
– Search for Dr. Muscle
– Tap update
Not in the beta? Click here to join: https://dr-muscle.com/beta-program/. Otherwise, you'll get a notification inside the app in 7-10 days when the public version comes out.

Thanks for your suggestion Michaela.
I can definitely see how it would improve the app. I'm also happy to say it's already gotten some votes at https://muscle.userecho.com/communities/1/topics/331-bands-colour-options. Please vote for the original. As always, we implement suggestions with the most votes first, and only customers like yourself get to vote. I'm going to close this one for now.
Best,
Carl
Hi Stu. Yes, we're aware of the issue. Tried getting in touch with Ross who created the dashboard. No luck yet. We're on it. Stay tuned for an announcement when the dashboard is back online. For now, you can still see your stats inside the app and at https://my.dr-muscle.com/.
Thanks for voting for this feature -- it's in beta! From the announcement:
Injury rehab mode is coming! It’s one of our top requested features, so I’m pumped to bring it to you. With this version coming up in beta, you’ll be able to tap More and Injury rehab next to any exercise. The app will then walk you though the steps required to recalibrate that exercise, or swap it if it's too painful. As with all things injury, we highly recommend medical supervision. Learn more at https://dr-muscle.com/bodybuilding-injuries/.
This update also includes a new and improved exercise menu that lets you view your history for any given exercise quickly and instructions to superset exercises.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for your suggestion. Until it gets more votes and we implement it, we're going to follow up 1-on-1 with you to see if we can help tweak your program. Please check your inbox and spam for an email from us.
Best,
Carl
Hi Michaela,
We do recommend warming up, even for bodyweight exercises To give you a bit of context, in a systematic review, McCrary et al. (2015) found “strong research-based evidence” that “warm-ups enhance power and strength performance.” In a meta-analysis, Fradkin et al. (2010) found that “Warm-up was shown to improve performance in 79% of the criterions examined.”
With that said, if you find it's not having much of an impact on your performance, you could save time by doing just one warm-up set (or even 0). Here's how:
Tap Settings (bottom bar)
Scroll down to Sets
Next to Warm-up sets, enter 1 (or 0)
Tap Save
You can also customise those at the exercise level by tapping More and Settings next to any exercise during any workout.
All the best,
Carl
Good news! We've started working on this feature. So far, we have the following body parts in mind:
- Triceps
- Shoulders
- Traps
- Upper back
- Calf
Let me know if you have any comment or special requests before we start implementing them. Cheers!
Hi Hector,
You can edit your equipment to include only the plates you have. Here's how:
Tap Settings (bottom bar)
Tap Change equipment
Under Gyms, toggle on Activate profile
Enter what you have
That way, you'll only get weight recommendations that match your increments.
I'm going to mark this as completed. If you have more questions like that, please get in touch at support@drmuscleapp.com.
Thanks!
Carl
