Your comments
Good news! We've started working on this feature. So far, we have the following body parts in mind:
- Triceps
- Shoulders
- Traps
- Upper back
- Calf
Let me know if you have any comment or special requests before we start implementing them. Cheers!
Hi Hector,
You can edit your equipment to include only the plates you have. Here's how:
Tap Settings (bottom bar)
Tap Change equipment
Under Gyms, toggle on Activate profile
Enter what you have
That way, you'll only get weight recommendations that match your increments.
I'm going to mark this as completed. If you have more questions like that, please get in touch at support@drmuscleapp.com.
Thanks!
Carl
Hi Wayne,
Thanks for chiming in!
Right now, you can customize reps at the exercise level by tapping More and Settings next to any exercise. Then toggle on Use custom reps. You could do that during your injury rehab, and toggle the setting back off when you're ready to return to normal training for that exercise. That would also let you choose a specific range for each exercise (e.g. for upper vs lower body like you're saying).
Would that work?
Best,
Carl
This is one of our top requested features, so I'm pumped to announce we've started working on it!
At this stage, we'd like your feedback before we implement anything. Here's what it would look like:
- Tap More next to any exercise
- Tap Injury rehab
- You see an overlay:
Injury rehab
Recalibrate for injury recovery. Medical supervision highly recommended.
Learn more // Got it - Tap Learn more
- Read https://dr-muscle.com/bodybuilding-injuries/
- Tap Got it
- You see an overlay:
Biceps Curl
How much can you lift without pain 5 times?
If you enter 0, the app will recommends you swap for another exercise that doesn't hurt.
If you enter anything else (e.g. 10 lbs), the app will help you work back up slowly from that weight. During your rehab, you should avoid pain and work back up gradually, focusing on good form.
Does that all make sense? Please let me know what you think in the next 3 days.
Thanks for voting for this suggestion Nygel.
We implement suggestions with the most votes first, and only customers like yourself get to vote.
I can see this feature is currently ranked 5th, so it should get done fairly soon. A lot does get done, as we've implemented 14 of the most popular request in the last 12 months. You can see the full list under "Completed" here: https://muscle.userecho.com/.
We release new updates almost every week. For a detailed list of new features and improvements, check out https://dr-muscle.com/timeline.
All the best,
Carl
Hi Nygel,
I can see you already voted for that suggestion on another post: https://muscle.userecho.com/communities/1/topics/273-support-for-assisted-dips-chin-ups?redirect_to_reply=926#comment-926
I'm going to mark this as a duplicate and close it.
Best,
Carl
Hi Wayne,
I'm happy to saw we already have a setting for that. Here's how you can configure your home gym:
Tap Settings (bottom bar)
Tap Change equipment
Tap Home
Toggle on Activate profile
Enter the dumbbells you have under Dumbbells
And you should be good to go!
If you need more help with that, please email us at support@drmuscleapp.com.
Best,
Carl
Hi Wayne,
We already have a similar suggestion in our top 5. I'm going to copy your comments there. I suggest you vote for that one!

Thanks for voting for this feature -- it's in beta! From the announcement:
Excited to announce TWO of our top requested features. With this beta update, you’ll be able to hear yours truly say how many reps you have to do when your rest timer ends (e.g. “5 reps” instead of the usual “ding”). Toggle this on by tapping the timer icon top-right during any workout. Also, you can now customize your equipment in full for plates, dumbbells, and pulleys. This gives you full control over your increments, min, and max weights for exercises using those implements. Big thanks to all who voted for these features!
If you're in the beta:
On Android, you can already download the update. On iPhone? You'll have to wait 7-10 days for Apple to release it. To update:
– Open the store app on your phone
– Search for Dr. Muscle
– Tap update
Not in the beta? Click here to join: https://dr-muscle.com/beta-program/. Otherwise, you'll get a notification inside the app in 7-10 days when the public version comes out.
Now would be a good time to suggest and vote for our next feature. Please visit https://muscle.userecho.com/.
We've released 46 updates in 2021 (one a week or so). For the full list, see https://dr-muscle.com/timeline/.

Hi Michaela,
We do recommend warming up, even for bodyweight exercises To give you a bit of context, in a systematic review, McCrary et al. (2015) found “strong research-based evidence” that “warm-ups enhance power and strength performance.” In a meta-analysis, Fradkin et al. (2010) found that “Warm-up was shown to improve performance in 79% of the criterions examined.”
With that said, if you find it's not having much of an impact on your performance, you could save time by doing just one warm-up set (or even 0). Here's how:
Tap Settings (bottom bar)
Scroll down to Sets
Next to Warm-up sets, enter 1 (or 0)
Tap Save
You can also customise those at the exercise level by tapping More and Settings next to any exercise during any workout.
All the best,
Carl
