Hey Dustin!

Great question.

Actually, for your 1RM and weights progression, the app only uses your best set of the day. So, in the scenario you described, the fact that you forgot to lower the weight on your 4th set didn't change anything, from the standpoint of 1RM progression.

However, since you went back and hit "finish exercise" again, the app probably now think you did 8 sets. Have a look in your history and delete extra sets. Because if you stay with 8 sets in your history, you might get a recommendation for 8-10 sets on your next workout.

I hope that was clear. Lemme know if you'd like me to expand.

Have a great weekend,

Carl

Yeah, I fully agree. Copy and edit. It was already on the list. I'll turn it into a formal feature request here, so we can keep track.

Thanks for testing Nick.

Guys, I'm discussing this issue with my dev right now. I'll update soon.

We've just released this fix in beta. It should go public in a few days. I'm marking this as "Completed".

Hey Nick,

Always appreciate your input.

I've thought about this long and hard. In the end, we'll go with new workout plans. Level 1, level 2, etc...

When you stop progressing on level 1, the app will see that and recommend you move to level 2. Level 2 will have new exercises in rotation. But those will be fixed (in the plan). So if you want to add you own exercise in rotation, you would have to create your own "level 2" workout plan. You could basically copy ours and replace just the exercises you wish.

Going the other way around (with a custom setting for each exercise) would have gotten confusing and hard to manage after a while.

This was a hard decision to make, but we think it's the right one.

If we get feedback to the contrary, we'll backtrack and implement it the way people ask.

Level 2 workouts should be released next week. I hope you give them a shot and let me know what you think.

Cheers!

Yes! Of course you can ;)

I think I've been able to reproduce the issue.

Exercise list >

Bench Press >

Begin Exercise >

Save set (3x) >

Finish Exercise >

Lock screen >

Unlock screen

However, what I get it:

App is closed >

Open the app >

I'm back to the home screen

Instead of seeing the results screen.

Do you actually get a crash notification popup on your phone? Or the app just closes?

Also, you said you do this when the loading takes too much time. How long does it take?

Thanks for your help Ben,

Carl

Glad you see my point :)

What do you mean by: "Trisets is time consuming too...we don't really have time to manip the app especially with 4-5 exercises..." ?

I'm not sure I understand.

Hey Ben,

I'm not sure about this one. Here's why:

We have users who do giants sets (3 exercises) or circuit training (4-5 exercises). For those people, returning to the previous exercise would be a nuisance. They must be able to return to the list and pick the next exercise in their super-giant-circuit-set.

See my point?
